Choose wisely

 Amos 5:24

But let justice roll down like waters,

and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

When water flows

the sound may be gentle and soothing

bringing balm to weary souls

It may be cacophonous and disturbing

bringing terror and fear

It may signal the welcome assuaging of thirst

Or it may herald the destruction of all in its path

When justice and righteousness travel together

they bring the promise of restoration for the oppressed 

and those who have been overlooked

And a message of dire warning for those who trample underfoot

those whom God loves with a passion

There is no middle ground

It is all or nothing

Choose wisely

let justice roll down like waters,
