Past learning

Job 8:8-10
“For inquire now of bygone generations,
and consider what their ancestors have found;
for we are but of yesterday, and we know nothing,
for our days on earth are but a shadow.
Will they not teach you and tell you
and utter words out of their understanding?

Learning from those gone before
One generation telling another
Sharing wisdom gleaned
from trial and error
through success and challenge
and by hard work and study
The wisdom of the ages
and of the aged
is not to be scorned
but sifted and weighed
to find treasure for today
The store of wisdom grows daily
as each adds experience and insight.
Not all new
Not all ancient
But, together, all contributing
to a wealth that we could not achieve
on our own.
"Inquire now of bygone generations"
