Jesus Thanks His Father

At that time Jesus said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and the intelligent and have revealed them to infants.

Knowledge that comes

not from learning

not from study

but from instinct

that begins in the womb.

Wisdom that, through the years

becomes tarnished

dulled

diminished

Overwhelmed 

by the weight of years

by disillusionment

by cynicism.

Ground down

by hurt

and rejection.

Revelations

worth holding onto

for as long as we can.

The gift of insight

from the God of heaven and earth.
