Mark 8:1-4
In those days when there was again a great crowd without anything to eat, he called his disciples and said to them, “I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way—and some of them have come from a great distance.” His disciples replied, “How can one feed these people with bread here in the desert?”
When compassion is not enough
When thoughts and prayers seem inadequate
What miracles might we see
And what part are we being called to play
in making a difference?
When we pray for others to bring solutions
What is our awareness
of the ways that we are enabled
to be an answer to prayer?
Like finding bread in the desert
opening our hands and hearts
makes all difference
in feeding the world
with the language of love
An offering
that will be enough
in the economy of God
