Pondering what the desert reveals
in the process of discernment
a slow unfolding
of tightly wound dreams
unfurling at the edges
Teasing in its winsomeness
swirling around the periphery
just out of reach
hidden from sight.
And so the work must continue
to carefully listen
and try to comprehend
but, above all,
to exercise patience
until, in the fulness of time
all is revealed.
And in the waiting
to know the calm assurance
that God's will is good.
