Epiphany - making it real

Epiphany is sometimes described as the culmination to the season of advent and christmas. But I like to think of it more as a grounding. Coming to the point where we bed the experience and the mystery into real life. Having been touched by the wonder, it's time to live out the reality of the love and the life to which we are called. In. our. everyday. Time to take the light of God's love and let it spill over into all of life. A gift that only makes sense in the sharing. That will be a true Epiphany.

  1. Yes, with you on the grounding context of Epiphany Liz. I like holding an Epiphany party at mine to mark the transition. I'm surveying the very little carnage in my flat this morning and realising I have very civilised and grown up friends and this also means that I count as officially 'old'...! Look forward to continuing to read your thoughts through this year.

  2. Nah, never old, girlfriend. It must be the sub zero temps subduing the party animals. Like the sound of an epiphany party. Maybe next year...

  3. Really enjoyed hearing about the blessing of the chalk/ Epiphany blessing services via the Revgals - it's been noted for sometime in the future when I'm off this 'slow boat to China' to parish ministry!
It's so weird, my buddy who I started with is just starting probation... I still have several years. Happy to be doing the Doc., it's just odd feeling pulled by two things at times. If I did New Year's resolutions, I'd be going for patience, I think!
