Sacred space

Our Lenten Labyrinth this year posed a peculiar problem. We had the tiniest space in which to set up. However, its incredible what can be done. During Lent,  folks will have all sorts of opportunity to discard some of the baggage that we carry with us through different spiritual exercises. As we journey towards Easter its good to be able to take some time in the week to focus on our own spiritual journey and, daily, to tune in to the presence of God in our everyday. Sometimes size doesn't matter - and neither does time. Lent is an opportune time to examine quality of relationship.

  1. This is a super idea. I've walked a labyrinth several times and have occasionally thought about organising something similar for the congregation. How do you use this space?

during Lent, folk will be able to just spend time in the quiet of this space, walking the labyrinth. At various points there are suggested thoughts/actions that folk are free to take up or not. Those will change regularly as I think up more ideas.
We normally have a huge hall to set up in during holy week. but I've been pleasantly surprised by how much its poss to achieve in this small space - the Laird's loft in the church where the lady Laird sits when she comes to worship - a carry over from the days of patronage when her ancestors piad for the building of the sanctuary and sponsored the minister!

Mike - thanks for tag - I'll respond soon :)
